I’m on the plane to the 77th Daytona Bike Week. I have a backpack with a few changes of clothes, swimsuit, and my riding gear.
I’m excited to see friends I’ve met through motorcycling over the years and look forward to meeting many more.
I’m looking forward to watching races like the Sons of Speed where Brittany Olsen claimed her ‘Daughter of Speed’ victory title last year in New Smyrna.
Or be amongst motorcycle enthusiasts sitting in the Daytona Speedway stands; watching race manager Dean Young lead Indian Motorcycle to another history making American Flat Track Season.
I’m prepared to ride a motorcycle when I get down to Daytona thanks to the Garage Girls Ultimate Biker Makeover. What I’m not prepared for is all the unknowns in between….
Unknowns like, where will I stay while I’m in Daytona? How will I get from the Orlando Airport to Daytona an hour away? What I’ll wear tonight at the Indian Industry Party?
Years ago a fear kept me grounded in the Midwest. Instead of being paralyzed by the fear of the unknown I’m trusting faith will take me safely forward to new adventures.
I’m excited to see what this Daytona Bike Week brings and what doors open because I chose faith over fear.
